In the spirit of its concept — based on outstanding artistic positions on drawing and collage, and the medium of paper — which refrains from classic booths and is completely tailor-made for the most sensitive exhibits, paper positions. frankfurt deliberately focuses on a salon-like situation with continuous exhibition walls. The limited number of exhibitors also underlines the character of a large theme-based exhibition. The spatial design offers an open overview as well as the possibility to directly approach individual artistic works and to perceive them in a mutual dialogue.
Founded in 2010, LAGE EGAL still regards itself as an experimental laboratory intent on tampering with the prevalent mechanisms of art presentation and mediation in a rather playful way. The emphasis is on curatorial projects that scrutinize and reconsider the stature of exhibitions as such, also as a creative act that repeatedly provides the audience with new ways of viewing art. With its presence at paper positions basel, LAGE EGAL will be participating in an international art fair for the first time.
