Our curatorial project for this year’s edition of Luxembourg Art Week establishes a dialogue between painting and photography, object and sculpture, inviting art audiences to question the nature of reality and representation. Focusing on a specific selection of works, the exhibition shows how artists play with perception to produce profound emotional and intellectual responses, combining illusionist painting and sculptural techniques with revolutionary photographic methods that abandon traditional cameras.
MARTA DJOURINA redefines photography through her innovative and experimental techniques. She produces haunting abstract images by manipulation of light and photosensitive materials, creating artworks that are as much about process as they are about the final visual. Her pieces invite audiences into a world where the boundaries of visual perception are constantly being pushed, making each photograph a unique exploration of light and form.
TOM FRÜCHTL works masterfully blends paintings and sculptures to explore and challenge perceptions of reality. His art is known for its conceptual depth, where everyday objects and architectural elements are reimagined and transformed. By using traditional materials in unexpected ways, Früchtl creates pieces that blur the boundary between art and the everyday, drawing viewers in with their intelligent reinterpretation of familiar forms.
