As part of the “Airbag” series – presented firstly in Bilbao in 2021 – this work belongs to the artist exploration of the topic – “control of what is possible to control and acceptance of the unknown“. Either in the painting process itself or in life situations, what comes unexpectedly can be taken as an opportunity if we continue in driver’s seat. This painting portraits the feeling of discomfort by pushing the image to its borders. Also, portraits a tool, an asset, a house, a transport, a submarine – whatever might change its meaning or purpose if left alone, behind, forgotten.
