This year’s presentation brings together two emerging European artists whose practices transform immaterial phenomena into tangible forms.
Marta Djourina (b. 1991 /BG • based in Berlin) creates camera-less photographs through direct interventions of light on analogue photographic paper. Using long exposures and performative gestures, she produces luminous compositions that blur the boundaries between photography, drawing and action. Her work foregrounds the physical act of image-making, revealing light itself as a sculptural and temporal medium.
In dialogue, Obbe Van der Weide (b. 1996 /NL • based in Den Haag) presents a new body of sculptures developed from expressive drawings translated through digital modelling and advanced fabrication processes. Positioned between the organic and the synthetic, these hybrid forms explore technology as an invisible force that increasingly structures contemporary experience.
Together, the artists propose two distinct yet complementary approaches to materiality and perception. While Djourina makes visible the fleeting presence of light, Van der Weide gives form to the abstract systems that shape our technological reality. The booth unfolds as a conversation between gesture and construction, immateriality and embodiment.
