De-contextualization, but also re-combination as an answer to art-reproductions from art-catalogues and art-magazines that primarly promote themselves.
From a solid form, the artist is re-building the world anew. Multiple image layers are combined and arranged in various layers – clamped into a new narrative structure. New dimensions are opened by conceiling and withdrawing some of the main parts of the images. The collages either seem to float in their opacity, or they are bottled up so tightly that several dimensions seem to be fused as one. In this way the thousandfold reproduced artpieces get back their lost aura.
The title of the presented series, “shocked, I had no idea that this world existed!”, is itself extracted from a magazine-article and illustrates the related visual experience perfectly.
