Elmira Iravanizad’s sculptures and paintings are based on her fundamental confrontation with technique and materiality. Responding to the forms of architectural objects she dismantles, deconstructs and recontextualizes these forms and their underlying meaning and functionality.
She reimagines these visual elements through a playful process drawing from her subconsciousness. Hereby, she invites the viewer to speculate about an alternative hypothetical materiality and to reimagine form as a symptom of social transformation.
