For Art Düsseldorf 2026, the presentation is structured as a spatial and conceptual tension field articulated around the wall-based sculptural works of FRANCK MILTGEN, whose soft material architectures operate as zones of contact between body, surface, and memory.

Miltgen develops textile-based sculptural forms that function less as objects than as perceptual membranes. Through controlled softness, density shifts, and tactile ambiguity, the works destabilize conventional hierarchies between protection, vulnerability, and permanence, producing a haptic reading of space that resists purely optical consumption.

In counterpoint, the presentation introduces precise shifts in temporality and image regimes through selected works by CLARA BAHLSEN, WONKUN JUN, and ROBIN WEN. CLARA BAHLSEN’s practice unfolds through photography, object-making, and publishing strategies that reconfigure autobiographical fragments and vernacular materials into semi-fictional narrative systems, interrogating social codification and image circulation. WONKUN JUN develops painting through successive strata of diluted pigment, producing atmospheric chromatic fields oscillating between material presence and perceptual dissolution. ROBIN WEN produces hyper-detailed drawings in blue ballpoint pen that translate ephemeral subcultural environments into quasi-archival image fields, where obsessive mark-making operates between documentary precision and collective memory.

Together, the presentation constructs a layered perceptual environment where material presence, image construction, and subcultural narrative intersect.
